Homeland Security X Post (Sept 17, 2025)
The Homeland Security X account posted: "In less than 250 days, 2 MILLION illegal aliens have left the United States." DHS later split that into formal deportations vs self-deportations.
DHS deportation and self-deportation totals
Oct 27, 2025: 527,000 deported and 1.6 million self-deported. Dec 19, 2025: 622,000 deported and 1.9 million self-deported. Feb 24, 2026: 713,000 deported and 2.2 million self-deported (DHS). May 17, 2026: 900,000 deported and 2.2 million self-deported (DHS via Fox). July 12, 2026: 985,000 deported and 2.2 million self-deported (DHS via CBS). Self-deportation figures are DHS estimates. The CBP Home / Project Homecoming app had about 132,000 documented departures through July 16, 2026 (Axios).
2026 monthly ICE arrests

Guardian (July 2026 ICE removals)
Nearly 34,000 people were removed in July 2026, about 1,100 per day (article). That monthly ICE figure is not added on top of the July 12 DHS deportation total.
